With 120 km of rivers and streams and around thirty lakes, the Tende area has all the assets needed to enjoy a 100% natural fishing experience.

Territory: AAPPMA Haute Roya – Association of Tende Anglers (APT)

✅ Mandatory conditions

• APT – Tende permit

• Valid AAPPMA fishing license, issued in the name of the purchaser of the APT – Tende permit

⚠️ Not valid on the Roya River downstream from the La Brigue bridge

Fishing prohibited areas

• Roya: from the 14-arches bridge to the RD 6204 bridge (Scara)

• Refrei: downstream from the Rouéou valley

• Bieugne: downstream from the RD91 bridge

Opening dates 2026

• From March 14: rivers downstream from Lake Mesches

• From May 1: mid-mountain lakes & rivers

• From June 20: high-mountain lakes (+1800 m)

⛔ Closures

• October 11, 2026: rivers and torrents

• October 25, 2026: all lakes

Regulated fishing areas

• Castérino: 1 fish/day (≥ 30 cm)

• Fly fishing no-kill areas:

  • Merveilles route

  • Lake of L’Huile

• Fontanalbe peat bog (barbless hooks only)

⚙️ Essential rules

• 1 rod authorized

• Catch limits:

  • 3 fish/day in rivers

  • 6 fish/day in lakes

• Minimum size: 25 cm

• Barbless hooks mandatory
